Following the announcement by the French President of a constitutional bill to register abortion in the constitution, Alliance VITA denounces this blatant and indecent exploitation of the sensitive subject of abortion.
The Senate has just adopted the bill aimed at introducing a "right" to abortion in the constitution by modifying the initial text to register in the constitution the “freedom for women” to resort to abortion.
The French Parliament has just adopted on first reading the inclusion of abortion in the Constitution. Once again, the subject of abortion has been instrumentalised by the political parties in a game of tactical politics.
The French National Assembly is to examine tomorrow a law proposal tabled by LFI (La France Insoumise) suggesting that "Nobody may undermine the right for abortion and contraception. The law guarantees that any person who so wishes should have free and effective access to such rights." Alliance VITA denounces this as the wrong debate.
On Wednesday 19th October 2022, the Senators rejected, by 172 votes to 139, the private bill presented by the ecologist Senator Mélanie Vogel who wanted to register in the French constitution a "fundamental right for abortion and contraception".
Last September, the Spanish Supreme Court confirmed the sentence by the Oviedo Court, condemning ACAI for misleading advertising. ACAI (Asociacion de Clinicas Acreditadas para la Interrupcion Voluntaria del Embarazo) is a group of some thirty private clinics, approved for conducting abortions.
